Times are a changing

Whether you see the daylight saving time as an hour less in bed in the morning or a sunnier start to your day, here at Graham Smith Antiques we have plenty of clocks to choose from to help you continue your day on time! We pride ourselves in our selection of fine antique clocks, ranging from large grandfather clocks to small mantle clocks, you will find something to suit you. All of our clocks come with a year's guarantee and are regularly maintained by a local specialist.

The grandfather clock shown in the photograph above is a beautiful mahogany specimen, and one of the largest clocks we have at the moment! The dial is of particular note because of the hand painted depictions, Europe, Asia, America and Africa are all there in each corner. This Scottish Grandfather clock also has a wonderfully rural scene of a lady and child in period dress. The clock below is late 19th century, decorated with cherub representations making this elaborate piece really stand out. The oak framework and brass details encourage a sense of longevity in this clock, an investment to be proud of!

Linden Hall 2012 a great success - still time to go today!

Once again it's that time of year for antique collectors and traders alike to meet under the splendid roof of Northumberland's Linden Hall. This years event ran from 9-12 March 2012.

Originally built in 1812, Linden Hall is a delight to see and was designed by two architects, Sir Charles Monck, assisted by a just newly qualified architect, John Dobson. With 450 acres of woodland to explore, those who wished were able to take a break from the browsing and enjoy a refreshing walk in the unique Northumberland air. With over 20 specialist antique dealers displaying their stock at the Hall, visitors were spoilt for choice, a situation well worth the £5 entry fee. Or if you were one of our existing customers you would have hopefully received a complimentary ticket from Graham Smith Antiques.

After a busy week setting up for the antiques fair, it was time to meet the public and chat antiques! Carefully selecting items small and large, and as you can see from the photograph below, we were able to have a lot of fun with the space provided.

From 9th to 11th March 2012, the antiques fair provided it's participants with plenty of time to browse, barter and take home some really special pieces.

Still time to go!
Sunday's opening times are 10:30 - 6pm so hurry if you haven't made it yet, you could still be within a chance of discovering your next antique!
